Quick Find:
DWI Victim Services
If you or someone you know has been the victim of a drunk driving crash, we can help you find the
legal, financial and emotional support you need. We can help you:
- Track your case
- Liaison with other agencies as needed
- Help explain criminal and civil judicial processes
- Help you retrieve a copy of the police report and driver's history
- Explain your rights and role in the courtroom
- Tell you how contact the Office of the Medical Investigator
- Teach you where and how to access financial assistance
In New Mexico, drunk driving crashes that cause great bodily injury are considered "enumerated crimes". Victims
of enumerated crimes have certain legal rights guaranteed by the
New Mexico State Constitution. If you
have been injured by a drunk driver, we may be able to provide you with pro bono legal assistance through
the New Mexico Victims' Rights Project. In addition
to the services above, we may be able to:
- Speak with law enforcement officials on your behalf
- Go to court with you and act as a victim representative if necessary
- Assist you in preparing your statement to the court
- Assist in forming questions to ask the District Attorney's Office
Get the help you need today. If you would like to speak with our Victim Advocate about these services, please call the DWI Resource Center at 505.881.1084.
