Retailers for Responsibility Program

The Retailers for Responsibility Program is designed to reduce impaired driving
through awareness and reminders at the point of sale. Program participants include distributors,
retailers (package, convenience and grocer), bars, and restaurants. Participation publicly demonstrates
the liquor licensees' concern for DWI and personal responsibility. The DWI Resource Center provides
program implementation, materials and coordination.
The DWI prevention messages have a personal responsibility orientation and are located in store
liquor departments. The campaigns treat customers seriously and with respect, stick to a simple,
specific point, are visual, relevant, and provide useful information to assist in responsible decision making.
